Old photo from Fort Point in San Francisco. 1980's

This is Fort Point surf out under the Golden Gate bridge. You could only surf out here once the buoy turned east. That told you the tide was now coming win. We used to paddle out as the buoy pointed straight up and waited for the change. If you went out there any earlier, there was a seven knot outgoing current waiting for you. If you did get sucked out, you had to come in on the rocky but popular gay nudist beach called Baker Beach,

As you can see it was not makable on this day. And by the way that is a 'friend' dropping in on me.lol. I think his name was Grant and he was a doctor. (If I am wrong, please let me know who he was. He moved north after those years.
これはゴールデンゲートブリッジの下にあるフォートポイントのサーフィンについての話です。ブイが東を指してから潮が入ってくるタイミングでしかサーフィンできませんでした。早く出すぎると、強い外向きの潮流に巻き込まれ、ベイカー・ビーチに戻る羽目に。残念ながら、この日は波に乗れる状況ではありませんでした。また、この投稿者の「友人」が彼の波に乗り込んできた様子が描かれています。
