Alan Merrill, son of Jazz Singer Helen Merril lived for a while in Japan during the early seventies. He released a slew of solo albums before forming a group called Vodka Collins.

Here are some info sites. Although I must admit that this Allmusic was written by Alan or someone under his direction. Lol. After leaving Japan for England, he co-wrote a song called “I Love Rock And Roll” that Joan Jett and the Blackhearts took to the top of the charts.
