It was back in 1972 I heard an album by Takuro Yoshida called "Genki Desu". It may be the Japanese album I listened to the most. It is full of great folk rock tunes. A few of the songs have that Bob Dylan, "Highway 61" vibe but the album holds up on it's own merits.
One song called "Tadoritsuitara Itsumi Amefuri". Which translates to "By the time I got there it is always raining", was covered by a post Group Sounds band called the Mops. A great rock band of the era.
